Academic Profile

Students aiming for Grades 8/9 at GCSE and A/A* at A Level require more than revision. They require intellectual clarity, disciplined thinking and a precise understanding of how marks are awarded at the highest level.

I previously taught Science at a leading North London independent school and now serve as an approved examiner for both AQA and Edexcel. In addition to GCSE Science, I specialise in A Level Chemistry, supporting academically ambitious students in developing the conceptual depth and analytical precision required for top performance.

Leadership Experience

I have served as both Head of Science and Lead Practitioner.

As Head of Science, I was responsible for curriculum design, academic standards and departmental outcomes.

As Lead Practitioner, I worked across the school to strengthen teaching practice, mentor colleagues and refine strategies that raised attainment at the highest levels.

With over 17 years of experience and extensive examination work at GCSE and A Level, I have direct insight into what distinguishes secure answers from those awarded top marks.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching is structured, rigorous and deliberately paced. Complex and abstract ideas are made clear and logically accessible without reducing academic challenge. Students are trained not only to understand demanding material, but to apply it fluently and express it with precision under examination conditions.

Sessions are focused and confidence building. Emphasis is placed on disciplined exam technique, clarity of written communication and calm performance.

I also work extensively with students who present with additional learning needs. Where appropriate, I adjust structure and pacing while maintaining full academic expectation. The aim is to remove barriers, not lower standards.

I work with families who value intellectual seriousness, high standards and sustained academic ambition.
